Headed straight from work to the gym. Arrived thought it was oging to be heaving cos the car park was really busy, ubt it was empty and very HOT!
Really good, if tiring workout this afternoon.
I added a whopping 10kgs to the deadlifts, taking the weight up to 50kgs, and managed 7/6/4 against 10/8/6 at 40kgs. Am not sure, but next time I might knock it back to 55 as my form could probs have been a bit better.
Ab work was fine, not great news there, and I upped the weight son the cable crunches again...
BUT....the big news you are all waiting for (well, maybe not, but I ca n live in hope! lol) is the dips and chins....
Results from last time:
Dips - 8/8/6 (total 22)
Chins - 8/6/4 (total 18)
And today:
Dips - 8/8/7 (total 23) Plus 1 - wahoo!!!
Chins - 8/5/4 (+1) (total 18) I sneaked an extra rep out, but was done by then, so the same as last time at 18 :)
Happy with that.
All in all, a top workout, to round off a pretty good week of training.
Nah, not yet, I don't know if I want to measure them cos I suspect there will be little difference :-/
I don't get this.. I'm guessing you are enjoying the gym now and that might ruin it? I'd rather know, then if there was no change I can try figure out why, and if there is a positive change you know you have things nailed and should keep up the good work.
Better, but by no means perfect. No cake has passed my lips for at least a week, and choc has been less, although I did succumb to some of those little shortbread and choc Cadbury's Snack things yst, and had a Mars bar this afternoon.
But...much better than I was, which was munching on a choc bar every lunch time, and more than likely cake each evening.

Yeah, makes sense, I guess. Just don't want to measure and see no progress made
Today it was back to the beginning, and chest and back workout. Went to the gym at lunch time and it was nice and quiet :)
Pretty good workout, managed to add a couple of reps to bent over row and one rep to straight arm push down, so might up the weights on both exercises next time.
I tried, and failed to add weight to on my bench press. I added an extra 5kgs to make it 80kgs, but could only manage five reps, so dropped it back to 75kgs and whacked out 8/6/5, which is one more than last time in total.
Flyes stayed the same at 12.5kg DBs, and 10 reps. Don't want to put the weight up any further yet, as still worried about the strength in my left shoulder, so will stick where I am for the mo.
The last superset was a funny one: I added another 5kgs to the cable row, to make 55kgs, and managed 8 reps, but then couldn't even lift the 20kgs DBs for the incline bench press, which I managed last time :-/ So...dropped them back to 17.5kgs. Will this lack of ability to do the incline benches with a higher weight be due to the row tiring me out, do you think?
