A horror film fan who slashed a sleeping pal with a home made Freddy Krueger glove was jailed for life yesterday. Any comments?

The story said that the slasher had been jailed for life. I thought this seemed a little bit excessive until it was pointed out that he was eligible for parole after 4.5 years. A Farce???

I thought it was a bit harsh, he was only having a laugh, and his mate was plain begging for it. He should have said 'every town has an Elm street' - just like the film.
