I was given a physical trigger for that sense ofcalm and relaxation which also works.
In my younger days, I was involved in a lot of performance. One of the key techniques for replicating performance was to make sure that there were triggers to get you into the right frame of mind. It's a bit like a mental version of muscle memory, I suppose.
One guy I knew had this thing about rubbing his left hand to get rid of nerves. It worked for him, I'm not sure why, but it did.
hmm, dunno about the 7 weeks. i hope by then it'll be habit
Interesting, I certainly know that a couple of the people who swore by hypnotherapy went once a month for about six months - that way, maybe it really does become a habit.
This was my first training session with the new and improved Ender mk2.0.
It may sound stupid, but hypno-finn did seem completely different. Normally it's me pushing him to try new things, instead it was him leading the way.
We started off doing some kettlebell snatches that he'd learned over the weekend. Normally he'd shy away from this, but we were doing them in front of a crowd of people including 3PTs.
After that we did our usual pullup bar skills stuff, and then onto some chest stuff in the main arena. Monday night is naturally bicep and pec day in the gym, and we had somewhat foolishly decided to do upper body owing to immense pain in our legs (i can barley walk). All the same we braved it, and I did some low rep high weight stuff, while finn did his drop set. Normally there's lot of backchat and banter, as we try and tease the the rest short period out between changing weight, there was little of that today.
all in all I'd say he's definitely changed, much more focussed and less inhibited.
*wants to get hypnotised so he can fall asleep instantly
i made him a meals on wheels portion of chilli con carne, which he scoffed down after the gym. I also met him at lunch and he ate half of my roast turkey stuffing and cranberry sarnie, and had his own ones as well.
He's had 5 meals so far today, and should have another when he gets home, he does seem better. I'll be there anyway to make sure he doesn't slacken his pace
