This is of course a tragedy in this day and age but when will it ever change? will it ever change? i'm quite old and i can remember that since i was a small child we've been appealing and tipping billions of pounds into African countries and it makes no disearnable difference to the people of that land WHY? is money not the answer? is money being creamed off the top by others?? is it the Goverments of these lands?? so many questions that no one ever seems to answer or solve WHY WHY WHY??

I think it will never change, no matter how much funding is available. I suspect only a limited amount of the funding is used to help people, most of seems to be taken by the people at the top.
If we cannot keep our house in order, how can we can control another. NHS, poverty, homeless people, etc.
I do think the approach taken is wrong too. They focus seems to be, "we need more money for Africa"; however, that would not help these countries. The money needs to be used more efficiently and this can only happen if the west can have more control of what happens in these countries. There is a down-side to it as well, that the west may want to completely control these countries, especially the US.
