Yesterday I was in a supermarket at lunchtime. I watched as someone brought an apple, put it in a small plastic fruit bag, went to the till and put the small bag in a carrier bag. She probably got in her car drove for 1/2 mile back to work and chucked the bags in the bin. If everyone keeps creating waste like this we are all stuffed.

key word there, cost. There isn't the political will to sacrifice economic growth or let anohter country have a comparative advantage over them so it won't happen
