just make sure u read all the small print, sometimes they dont inc VAT for example or like these u end up bidding on a photo of an item!
" eBay bidder beware of people selling pictures of things
Grant says: "This seller, awesome_electroincs (with 0 feedback) appears to be selling PICTURES of iPods and other electronics in auctions that sound as if he is selling the actual items."
200705142237You are bidding on a picture of a Galaxy 2517 10 Meter Ham Radio and Silver Eagle Mic. Radio in picture LOOKS AND WORKS GREAT. I only ship to the continetal United States. I do not ship to PO BOXS. This is an as is sale. There will be no refunds of any kind. Payment is due within 3 days of sale ending. Thank You for looking at my sale and GOOD LUCK!
Some guy bid $100 on this photo of a ham radio. This is an old scam, and it's sad to see people fall for it"
I have to admit I always get nervous after paying for stuff on ebay and the dreaded wait, hoping your stuff turns up in the post.
I've bought a lot of equipment over the past few days and I really hope it all turns up safe and sound.
I've never had any problems before. Always stick with Paypal though.
I spotted an item I wanted but the seller specified 'No buyer with less than 50 feedback'.
Can he do this?
And if I bid and won and paid, would he have to sell or refund?

try speaking to him before you bid, also don't buy it outside of ebay, and check his credibility. It's common for big items as many noobs don't understand ebay too well, or try to defraud people.

Cheers Greg,
I sent him an email earlier. Shall see what he says.
I always pay on winning and have 100% so I don't see a problem.
How can you defraud unless you're the seller though? I don't get that?
perhaps more messing around, like bidding on something, then not paying for it, wasting the sellers time. It's a bit like the 50 posts to win a compo on here, to make sure people know and use the site.
You have emailed them and explained to them that you are interested in the item; however, do not have enough feedback points - so they may accept the bid because they have seen, you have made an effort to contact them.
"How can you defraud unless you're the seller though? I don't get that?"
Some people do not pay, or are not interested in the item anymore even though they won the auction. It wastes their time and money.
If they accept non-PayPal payment, they may be concerned that they cannot cash in the cheque someone sent, etc.
JT5 is right but frankly, I prefer selling because I know that I'd never rip anyone off, I hate when it happens to me and like I said, I use special delivery to make sure nobody lies about non-receipt.
Unfortunately when I had a batch of crap sales as a buyer in Jan/Feb this year, they were all located in and around Manchester, does that make me think all Mancunians on Ebay are con artists? No, but at the end of the day, it's something else to make me think twice. Some sellers decide they don't want to or are unable to sell you something as photographed and make up a load of b*****ks and send you something else as a substitute. Others pass on fake goods like my relabelled CPU - got a partial refund on that, though I had to chase it.
Now I'm going back to Ebay, the first seller I'm looking to buy from is selling good PC kit and has taken care of it, it's my second set of secondhand RAM and the first batch was sent to me from Australia, he's happy to send it by Special Delivery which is how I prefer it.
If anyone wants to sell on Ebay today, it's a 10p listing day. They hope that you'll waste money on all the other frills that basically do next to nothing to enhance an auction, but specialists who want your stuff will see through it all. If you do want to use enhancements, as far as I'm concerned, you have every right to add them to the Buy It Now price especially if Paypal will take a second bite out of your earnings.
In fact I haven't seen the Amazon question, but no problems there at all, the one book I tried to buy that wasn't in stock so the seller refunded me without having to ask for it. The second book came from an American ZShop so I deliberately ordered on Monday to allow the full week for delivery, it arrived on the Friday.
It's not that different to Ebay, you check their feedback and see if the price fits and in my personal case, keep the buying to credit card, and you'll be all right. Haven't bought anything other than books from Amazon zShops, it's almost like starting again for the first time.
