A British made radio controlled vibrator has been banned in Cyprus after it was branded a threat to national security. Any thoughts?

It's not a real news story it's a publicity attempt disguised as a news story. If you don't believe me count how many times the stockist of said 'banned' sex toy mentions their brand name.

There are many countries where sex toys are banned - or you can't refer to them as sex toys. Texas will let you sell them but you can't call them sex toys or refer to where they're going. I think we had a YouTube clip of a film about this, I'll see if I can find it. Other countries make sex toys but won't let their citizens buy them, and in many conservative/religious countries you can only get them if it's for 'medical purposes' or if your husband buys them on your behalf.

It's also often difficult to transport sex toys when travelling since they can set off all kinds of alarms - as friends of mine discovered when on their way to a sex conference once. If in doubt remove your batteries from the toy before travel (to avoid any accidental vibrations due to a toy set off by mistake) and be prepared to explain what it's for if asked at customs. It is worth checking the country/state you're travelling to before you go just in case they don't allow sex toys - otherwise you may find you have to leave your precious toy behind at passport control :-(

I've asked Will if he can post it (having problems with my machine uploading links currently).

Just as a disclaimer the YouTube clip is from a documentary called 'Dildo Diaries' (so it's not really work safe) and it's more funny/ironic rather than sexy. The first five minutes of the clip is the funniest part.
