Hello to one & all.

This is my fist ever thread so I thought I'd better say hi first and introduce myself.
I stumbled across mansized by accident about 10 weeks ago and feel like I know a few of you already from reading your threads/replies etc.

I am now 10 weeks in to my personal fitness plan combining cardio, weights, nutrition & Goals to achieve my target weight/composition. Since 10.03.07 I have made some good progress:

Starting Stats:

HT - 5.8"
Wt - 17.2 stone
BF - 41%

Current:

wt - 14.6 stone
BF - 29.5%

Getting this far has seen some dramatic changes in my appearance, lifestyle and food choices but progress is now getting harder (0.04 lbs lost this week). I am determined to reach 12.7-13 stone and maintain around 10-13% bf.

Well thats a bit about me. I will be in & out of the site regularly so I look forward to hearing from some of you soon.

Thank you. The thing that relly struck me with this site is the amazing support, kindness etc shown by/to all. I do feel like I have made a life change as opposed to a 12/20 week program.

Absolutely mate, it's all about health is for life not just for xmas :-)
Yeah they guys on here are great.
I dropped from 16 to less than 14 stone when I first came on here in October and the support from the guys is just fantastic.
It's a great website because you don't get that ridiculous slaggin/bullying/arguing crap that you get on other boards.
It's quite refreshing.
Anyway best of luck with your ongoing goals!

Hi SB

I don't ave any before pics - I had goten to the point where I actively avoided any pictures (do Have a video taken on xmas day which I look at now with horror) the final straw came in the 1st week of march when my own mum told me I was getting excessively fat and every day activities were getting harder to do or leaving me hot, sweaty and knackered. Prioir to joining the gym & looking at my diet an average day was:

skip breakfast

Lunch at 11 - thick sandwich (chicken, bacon, mayo), Crisps, Flap jack (950 cals)
500ml bottle of pepsi max (x 2 on some days)

Dinner 6 - Large main portion with chips/pots & veg (1000 cals)

Nights Cheese & biscuits (hmmmmmm)

Without fail I would also drink around 1/2 bottle of vodka per night (more at weekends) washed down with diet pepsi/sprite.

I know I was 15 stones in december 2005 so I had put on 2 stones in 2 years. When starting I could not really define my waist to measure it but I measured 48" around my navel, 45" around chest and was busting out of 38" trousers.

I'm now 38" around the middle, comfortably in 36" jeans and can easily put on and do up 34"s (unsightly handles tho) my chest is 42.5".

That's what you think, science boy. We just slag you off when you aren't about :P

Hehe just kidding. Welcome KC. That is indeed a great start. Your old diet sounds ...interesting. Shouldn't you be technically dead?!

Hope your current diet is a bit better.

Hi Phoenix.

Old diet was not great (the power of understatement) if i am honest i got very scary aches & pains in my chest & back and the sizeof my belly was an ongoing source of delight for my kids.

new diet is roughly (i change the chicken for turkey or fish whenever I need a change):

Breakfast 30g oats, milk, spoon honey 750ml water & ice

mid morn - 125g Chicken breast, 2 slices wholemeal light bread, salad 750 ml water & ice

Lunch - 125g chicken salad, 1 bread, fruit , water & ice

mid aft - Chicken (125g) sandwich , fruit, water & ice

Evening - Chicken, fruit, water & ice

I still have 2-3 double vodkas 4-5 times per week but stay within my 2000-2100 daily calorie allowance

twice a week I have a cheat meal usually a roast on a sunday and one good dinner during the week (I stick to the lean protein, clean carbs wherever possible tho yorkshires & roasties are on the sunday menu)
