He is jealous, he does not have the cash to spend. Was he complaining when Utd spent £27m. No! So he should just shut up and get on with his job.

It is true, £17m Bent. Transfer are returning to their crazy days and I have mentioned this a few times, for exmaple, when West Brom recieved £11m for two players. However, he is only complaining because he does not have the money, if had £10-15m to spend, he would not be complaining.

Plus it does not help, when local rivals Liverpool are spending money, £20m Torres (really £16m because of Garcia swap), Benni £4m, Babel £10-13.5m, etc.

Don't get me started about him...

I agree with Bent though, same price as Torres? Two Chopra's for one Berbatov? Kamara costing half of Ronaldo (Man U). Tottenham will be paying £7 mill for a 17 year old left back, who's only played for a season in the championship next.

It is the whole potential nonsense, which was first started when Leeds paid £18m for Rio.

Arsenal signed Walcott for £12m
Chelsea paid £16m for Obi Mikel - albeit, £12m went to Utd
Spurs signed Bale (I think) for £7m
Utd signed Nani for £17m

All four of these are not worth that - they made their name and then teams start bidding silly money. Three/fours ago, a lot of football league teams started bidding silly money too and look at most of them now. Besides the top 5, plus West Ham, Man City, Villa how can they afford these transfer.

This was all started again by Cheslea, when they would pay over the top for players, e.g. £21m for Phillips, especially because clubs knew they had money.

Quality players too, but not worth that much. Hope we use the money wisely

What happens when you are interested in someone? They will ask for more money because they know you have an extra £11m.

Haven't Inter made an approach for Ronaldino with £89 million in their back pocket recently?!
