Stating the obvious maybe, but a good snapsnot of where the MLS is at right now. The right move for Beckham?

You do know most of wages will not be paid by LA Galaxy.

They tried bringing superstars to the MLS in the 70's, it did not work then, it will not work now. There will more coverage and more media focus; however, it would be on the Beckhams rather then the football.

Who are paying him?

I haven't really looked into the transfer that much. I think it is a horrible waste of talent.

LA Galaxy, MLS, Walt Disney, Home Depot, the main sponsor of Galaxy and maybe a few others like the kit manufacturer and companies involved with LA Galaxy and MLS.

No MLS team can afford to pay that much. Excluding Beckham, the Galaxy payroll is not more then $50m; hence, he will earn more then the rest of the squad combined together.

I think a lot of people will. Will just play FM07, but will swap the stats of Torres and Garcia around.

if one man (although a great footballer and sporting icon) can persuade america to put down their baseball bats, footballs and basketballs to play football (soccer) then i'll be amazed. i'm sure the move will be very good to brand beckham though (and his bank balance).
