I've just downloaded Led Zeppin IV after hearing some of it on Zane show on radio 1 last week, but not really had chance to hear it yet.
Would you say I should get mothership as well, as a led zeppin virgin?

yup, it looks like it summarises the first few albums beautifully.
although IV is the most famous, I don't think it's the best ... there's some great stuff on the first three.

II is my favourite - "What Is What Should Never Be" and "Thank You" are just class.

The first is still my favourite. It's a bit rough around the edges but it sounds really fresh. I think it's hilarious the way Robert Plant goes off on a hike in You Shook Me.

My mum was a led zep frrrreak. I never really got into them. I liked the famous songs, but sort of liked them because it was sacrilidge (sp) to say I wasn't that bothered. I learnt stairway to heaven for my guitar teacher ages ago, but I had a superiority complex in them days and thought Paiges playing was sloppy. Now I can't play anything, I realise how awesome that solo is.
