I fucking hate NYE- having a day where there is pressure to have a fab time and the 'party of the year' is horrible. I do tend to go to house parties, it's just so much cheaper and easier and can last for days sometimes! NYE is also about reflecting on the previous year, and planning the next year (more depressing crap). NY day is spent with a massive hangover and come down, not the best way to start a year of promise.
This year I'll either be having people over mine for drinks, or heading to a friend's house party.
I agree with the pressure to have a good time. I hate how people get so excited about it. It's just another friggin night, but 3x more expensive.
I think we're having a house party. But one where all the kiddies can have a nice time too. Any excuse for my daughter to dress up nice. She's a proper little girl now wanting to wear party dresses and dance.
This year I've got some guilt too- my close friends and younger family members I usually club with look to me quite a lot to organise all the nights out. They've all been asking me what I'm doing etc. I'd prefer to head to my friends party, but as I've got the guilt about leaving them all (probably to have a crap unorganised night) I may end up having everyone over.
I hate NYE too - I think it is really depressing, and the hype is awful. I haven't got a plan for this one yet, I think it might end up being a stay at home one. I did that about three years ago, and spent it booking holidays and stuff on the 'net. Was a great way of setting out my stall for the year :-D
Not sure. My friend is visiting from San Francisco 29th dec-2nd Jan, so not sure if we are seeing her on new year's eve or another night. Otherwise will prob stay at home. It's not a big deal for me - just people getting drunk really. Last year went with friends to see fireworks at waterloo which was nice.
