Ben's rant thread turned into a finances related one. How are we all doing in the new year money wise? Tightening the belts or still spending?

I'm tightening as I get paid weeky but because of the bank holidays etc and the way my agency are paying me, means I have to wait another week and it's been a week since I was paid.

I have some large bills that need paying and I could be out of work in 5 weeks times :(

Get my student loan around now so mine should be good! :-)

Just spent 170 in currys though, but still got some christmas money left.

Once coursework is over I'll be out more so after feb it'll be tighter

Yep. He wears bow ties and really irritates me!

He does make sense though.

Apparently we should all have three months salary saved somewhere in case of emergencies.

If anyone on here says they have that I will personally hunt them down to smack them!!

Who?

I didn't spend much last few weeks, but problem living at home is that there is no danger of getting kicked out for not paying rent ( I assume) so not been brilliant with money last year. Buoght myself a nice new diary, have started keeping spending costs.

What I am going to do is take out a set amount of moeny each week out of the bank, and spend only that (and try to never use cards if I can). Hopefully that will cut my spending down.
