When i heard about this movie and saw the teaser trailer the words "godzilla, Blair Witch Project and rip off" came to mind, and essentially, that's what it is, but still, I thought it was great.
The action scenes are exciting and tense, and there is a constant feel of suspense from the initial attack from the monster (and its a decent monster too).
Okay, its not without its flaws. Obviously it is very unoriginal, and it does take far too long for the action to kick in. But other than that i thought it was well worth a visit to see and it was entertaining.
To the people that slated it, what did you expect??? It's a bloody monster movie!!! let go of that sodding sensible attitude your adult brain has and become a kid for a short while.

I agree, it is what it is, nothing more. I find it hilarious that some people were complaining about the battery life of the camera ;-)
and some people didn't believe that the characters would try to rescue someone that could possibly be dead - even thought hat person meant a great deal to the main character.
I'm glad im not friends with people that think like that put it that way.
As for the movie itself, it was ok, nothing great, and the ending was a bit of a disappointment, the film didn't explain anything at all really, so at the end you are kinda left thinking, "ok, and...".
I assume they are going to do the answers in the sequel, but tbh if it is shot in the same way, I think I will pass!
I went and saw this with the missus. The film is about the people getting to their friend, not about the monster. If they don't know anything about the monster it won't be explained in the film. The whole thing was about the people. I thought it was a superb film. Definately worth watching at the cinema. Would consider buying dvd when it comes out, but only if I had good surround sound system as you need the immersive audio. I thought it was great that it was all on a camcorder as it made it appear more realistic. I also liked the fact that it wasn't a typical Hollywood 'fearless American saves the day' type film. If you were in that situation, that is probably what it would be like. Good, tense film. The missus liked it aswell.
Just like people to know, I don't believe I will ever be in that situation. It didn't make it feel that realistic as I know it's only a film and a made up story. Hope it is anyway. I didn't see Trevor McDonald so I assume it wasn't the news. It is a good film though.
