I've no idea what section to put this in so I chose chat.

Does anyone know if there is some kind of legislation in place about what age a child gets to before they are no longer allowed in the opposite sex's changing rooms in the gym?

Just wondered....

my gym says 8 I think, not sure what the law is.

reminds me, came out the showers last night and there was a bloody manager type woman from the gym in the shower area discussing stuff with workmen! Imagine if it had been the other way around.

I don't know if there is anything official, but I know that my gym does have a sign up saying that only kids of the opposite sex under a certain age are allowed in there, and that they have to use the family area to change in - this used to be a little corner, behind a curtain, but now it is a series of cubicles.

LOL!

Wrong in so many ways.

I only asked because last week there was a lad in my changing rooms who was (and I know it's difficult to estimate) about 11 or 12 - and I felt quite uncomfortable for me as well as him!

Edited to add: I wouldn't want to go into the male changing rooms. My dad tells me people use the hair dryers to dry their pubes!!

I would of loved that at that age, in fact younger or older :)

I think its 7 or 8, yes, I've seen the 'I shall dry my pubes by hairdryer' approach and left me baffled, that is a little OTT

Now, that is just wrong!

I don't really like it when there are little kids in the changing/shower area running round when they are full of strange men in various states of undress. Maybe it is the inner prude in me, as I was never exposed to any form of nudity as a child, as my folks are a bit prudish when it comes to that.
