Was reading this - sounds like good news to me!

My only reservation if DIC take over is the money they would throw at the club (as silly as that sounds, being a fan and all that!)

I dont want us to be another Chelsea, turning into transfer market whores who just out-bid everyone else. I dont like the money culture in football, and huge money being invested in clubs wont do the sport any good.

If they have the interests of the club, the game and the area at heart then I fully support it.

If a group worth between £8 billion - £11 billion (depending on who you listen to) invest in the club, I would like to think they would invest in youth development for the kids in Liverpool (even though we have possibly the best academy in the world), improve the north Liverpool area and provide facilities for fans, rather than just pay average footballers silly money.

I would hate us to have 10 players on the books earning £90,000 per week and doing very little on the pitch to deserve it.

Running a club based on money alone is very unsustainable.

Thats my twopennethworth!

you'd like to think that the football powers that be would realise that. when you think of how much Real Madrid spent on their Galacticos, really they should have won the Champions League every year.

as for Chelsea ...

Chelsea have invested £568 million since Abramovic took over and have won 4 major trophies (2 league titles, 1 FA cup and 1 League Cup).

That is £142 million per trophy. Disgusting really.

I would like to see Liverpool (actually, any club for that matter) be more about community rather than money and fame - become clubs cities can be proud of again. The clubs should be investing in kids, schools, charities, rather than paying some of the players huge sums for very little return.

These are the richest clubs in the world:

1(2) Real Madrid £186.2m
2(1) Man Utd £166.4m
3(3) AC Milan £158m
4(5) Juventus £154.9m
5(4) Chelsea £149.1m
6(7) Barcelona £140.4m
7(9) Bayern Munich £128m
8(10) Liverpool £122.4m
9(8) Inter Milan £119.7m
10(6) Arsenal £115.7m
11(12) Roma £89m
12(11) Newcastle £87.1m
13(14) Spurs £70.6m
14(17) Schalke £65.8m
15(-) Lyon £62.7m
16(13) Celtic £62.6m
17(16) Man City £60.9m
18(-) Everton £60m
19(-) Valencia £57.2m
20(15) Lazio £56.1m

These are the last 20 winners of the European Cup:

AC Milan (3)
Barcelona (6)
Liverpool (8)
Porto
ACMilan (3)
Real Madrid (1)
Bayern (7)
Real Madrid (1)
Man Utd (2)
Dortmund
Juve (4)
Ajax
AC Milan (3)
Marseille
Barcelona (6)
Belgrade
ACMilan (3)
ACMilan (3)
PSV
Porto

So almost more than half are won by the top 8 clubs.

Just under half are won by the top 4 richest clubs.

But then only 3 have been won by the teop 2 richest clubs.

And Porto have won it as many times as anyone else bar AC and they are not even a top 20 club by value.

Real Madrid didn't really build a team for success though, they built it for the commercial market. Big names sell shirts.
