Think thats all from me! hope everyone is just swell and didnt miss me too much! :-P I am not dead dutch I am alive and kicking! :-) I'll have a catch up during the week and trawl thru what I've missed in the training logaroes!
Richy
Good to see you back Rich-tea! Glad it's going well so far with the welsh.
now I'm back with an internet connection I can update my log just as regularly as before!
no real change from last month size for me which As I'm not bulking is good. Been on a bit of a crappy diet of late tho so I've added a little fatty bum bum to my waistline; skinfold upto 17 but nothing I cant hide with some more muscle elsewhere and lose with better diet control in future.
Workouts of late I've been alternating HIT and non HIT focusing on compounds n beginning to try out a few new exercises such as decline bench presses, hammer curls and rope pulldowns perhaps.
Last workout was 3-4 sets of the following; weights shown are th eones I reached failure on (generally the last 3rd set)....
Weights are per DB.
SLDL - 20kgx6
DB Split squat Lunge - 10kgx7
DB Bench Press - 22.5kgx7
Lat Pulldown - 21kgx4 (strange this as I used a different gym but I was able to lift double (40kg+) last time I tried it elsewhere!)
DB Shoulder Press - 7.5kgx7
DB Hammer Curl - 7.5kgx6 (these are so much harder than curls - had to drop the weight to almost half!)
How are you finding doing 3 sets isntead of 1, and what sort of cadence are you using?
Just a couple seconds up and down. I'm doing 3 sets on most exercises with only the last to failure. Then on the 3 biggest exercises in each routine dropping the weight after the 3rd set and adding another set to failure straight after. So yesterday for the db bench press I did pressups straight afterwards as I was working inbetween sets with some guy so didnt want to hog the becnh by doing a drop set.
I enjoy 3 sets but don't find it as fulfilling as HIT which is why I alternate. It doesnt really allow me to lift any heavier either as by teh 3rd set you've got a bit of commulative fatique.
Weighed myself this morning to check the old weight and to my suprise I was up 3lbs and its all (or 90% of it) is muscle! :-) Now officially put back on all the weight I lost. :-)
Only went to the gym twice n have been eating buffet dinweers all week and fri upyesterday so I've hardly been trying. My body is so odd; when I eat real;ly well, train hard n eat really put in the effort I need to eat a hell of a lot to gain a lb a week. Then when I'm not really trying on come 3 lbs!
hehe
Recently I've been alternating HIT and 3-4 set traditional workouts and I'm finding that some exercises seem to suit one method more than the other! for me anyway.
For example I seem to get more out of Lunges, Chinups & Bench Press with more sets and a quicker cadence. But then I prefer Dips, Shoulder press, Rows, Lat Pulldowns and Curls HIT stytlee. Squats and SLDL however are pretty much just as good using both methods IMO. Last workout was HIT;
Squat
SLDL
Chinups
Straight Arm Pushdown
DB Bench Press
DB Fly
DB Shoulder Press
Tricep Pushdown
DB Curl
Just really doing what I fancy each time I go to the gym n generally just make up a workout before I go.
Off go-karting soon so I'm gonna show every how Richy Schumacher rolls! :-P No friends made when I'm on the track! hehe can't wait.
Buts wheres the sun this weekend! silly english (sorry welsh) weather! altho it has been brilliant weather the last 2 weeks.

Hi mate, I think that's every one. I don't train anymore - shame on me - but when I did I used to see all sorts happening.
