Btw, a quick diet update for you (Phoe!) - you will be pleased to know that for the last two days I have been better with my eating. No junk has passed my lips!
hI have been taking 'nanas and apples to work to snack on, and the canteen isn't too bad - they do a hot dish (which I haven't like anything so far) and then salads and fresh sandwiches, so been having them.
No chocolate has been consumed (a shocker for me!), apart from 3 quares each of dark and milk n hazelnut Green & Black's tonight. You impressed?
It's been three now. I had some more choc tonight, and nearly sucummed to post interview cake, but then got sidetracked doing some research for the next interview, and had to run for my train, as the guy I was talking to kept me chatting!
Back to proper training stuff now - been and done the second routine of the week: legs and shoulders this evening.
It went well, but I had to wait for equipment, so couldn't superset anything (and some cheeky mo'fos stole my bench when I went for some water, so I told them where to go!), which was a bit annoying. However, it was a good session, tho not quite as grrr as the last two.
I added weight to the squats and pullovers, dropped the weight on the DB overhead presses, and upped the reps and tried to up the weight from 10kgs to 15kgs on the cable lateral raise but could only move it about 1/3 of the movement so knocked it back to 10kg again.
Am probs not gonna get to the gym again over the next couple of days, so the next session will either be on Sunday or Monday.
:( My left knee is hurting today - I thought I felt a twinge when I was squatting last night, and I was right.
Not really sure what I did, as my knees were in line with my toes... :-/
Thats annoying! Had you just upped the weight and perhaps werent quite in control of it as you thought. It is easy to let you're knee briefly push in or out.
Only thing for it is rest really! It will be a week unjtil you squat next so I'm sure it will be fine by then but you may have to be carefull with or not do deadlifts

Yeah, I did up the weight: I started with a warm up set of 40kgs, and then three sets of 55kgs (up from 50kgs last week).
I will probs end up doing a fair bit of walking tomorrow, but will not be in the gym til either Sunday or Monday, and will take it easy on the deads.
Don't think my left knee was helped yesterday by spending about six hours behind the wheel, and at least two of those were spent in pretty slow moving, heavy traffic requiring plenty of clutch action.
Been walking quite a bit today too, and can feel a twing still, especially when going up and down stairs :-/
On the positive note, my diet has not been full of choc and cake still, even over the weekend when I was rushing about, I didn't have much alcohol - three pints and a glass of wine, and I resisted cream cakes on Sat night (tho did have some Pret choc cake at lunchtime)
At work, my diet has been better than previously (in terms of healthy vs crappy, but not necessarily food as fuel wise, but it is a start), as I have been having at least two bits of fruit a day: banana, apple or pear, plus applejuice with breakfast. I have also swapped my morning bowl of cornflakes for either muesli or boiled/poached eggs on Sat morning. No choc or crisps through the day, as work canteen makes huge sandwiches/baguettes, so been having ham or cheese with salad at lunchtime. I am also drinking plenty of water throughout the day too, which is a change to my former life.
One thing I need to work on is early nights, as am buggered at the mo, from not going to bed til 11.30ish and then the alarm going off at 6.45am. Not great!
I have missed the gym since last Thurs, but will be back to it soon!
Not been as dedicated to my mission of gym every other day for the last two weeks, hence me only getting to the end of week 2 mid way through week 3 of the DD challenege.
Made it this evening tho, and had a pretty good workout - deadlifts went well, and was remembering Gubes' imagine you are about to sit down on the toilet seat mantra as I moved down.
Also did side bends the proper way, holding only one DB, and, whoa, what a difference in terms of what I could feel!! Much more work being done :)
Dips better than last time by 2 reps, but chins down by 3, which is a bit disappointing - dunno why that was?! Must try harder next time, but my biceps wouldn't contract any more! lol
Over the weekend will get back in the swing and on track again next week.
