Until very recently I had not looked at this site for some time.

Revisiting here rekindled my interest in getting fit again.

That lead to a couple of questions - apologies very well in advance if they have been asked and answered before.

Also apologies if the answers are bleedin' obvious to everyone else...

1. Anthony's fitness workout and also the bellyoff workout plus virtually every workouyt I have seen, seem to take longer than 45 minutes. Also whenever one reads of people 'getting fit' they spend a couple of hours a day/every other day in the gym etc etc.

And yet when i visit sites like this which is a well known an respected site I read :

"
Myth #3 - You Have to Do Cardio 7 Days Per Week

You don’t need to workout everyday. The truth is, you only need to do 3 short workouts per week of 45 minutes. "

Now if that's true (the 3 x 45 mins a week and that's it) how com serious weight losers and serious fitness people, do a lot more than those 45 mins? In the MH mag, for example, the stories about people losing weight always have them doing far more exercise than the 45 mins x 3 a week. Often it's 5-7 days a week - even the government recommend more than 3 x 45 don't they?

So, what should I do?

2. I have been reading about the winner of Mansized 2008 and was very impressed. But why did everyone seem to follow the 'weights plan' and not the 'bellyoff plan' - or have I got that wrong?

Thanks

I workout 3 times a week for 30mins tops each time. The government recommendations are for light exercise daily. When in the gym, you shouldn't be working lightly!

People often workout longer and get results, but when you can work out less and get the same results,.. why bother. Lardass lost 3 stone with 3 weekly gym sessions.

This should explain in more detail why you don't want to be in the gym everyday. link

Matt-O has a point. Could you link us to the plan rather than us trawling through Ant's plans to search for it?

Sorry to sound like an ass, but it really does help if you're specific so we can give specific answers.

Welcome to mansized, btw :)

I think I have just committed heresy!

APOLOGIES

The belly-off plan is from, um, er, Men's health.

belly off

That would explain why people didn't follow it....

In short, what you should do is ignore all this bollocks and follow the weight loss plan here.

Stick with one of Anthonys plans.
If you stick to it and follow a sensible diet you will see results in 12 weeks.
Not sure how much that "belly off" malarky costs, but obviously this site is free.

Hi Tom welcome to Mansized :-)

Ant's plan do work in the time stated if you follow the timings and don't dawdle/chat.

If fatloss is your goal check out the Mansized Weightloss plan and count the caloires!

Look through the recent Mr Mansized logs for more ideas.

The guys there were following different plans, had different goals but all who made it to the end got good results and the top 4 were stunning!

You'll get loads of help here from the members - and if you want help from Anthony just post with @Ant in the title.

Good Luck in your goals!

Hey tomfrench,

Anthonys workouts will not take you longer than 45mins. The wieght loss plan workouts take anywhere between about 15 mins in week 1 and 40mins in week 12. Thats if you rest about 2mins in-between each exercise.

I am not sure about the bellyoff plan but looking at it it shouldnt take that long.

The reason wehy teh people you see in magazines etc that have lost weight spend an hour 5-7days per week is because they believe they have to! So in the belief that they must seat out every pound they go to teh gym for hours doing weights and cardio. The think is though (and its been prooved by many many peoplke doing Anthonys weight loss plans) that you can lose weight simply by eating less food than you're body needs! Th eworkouts are only there to ensure that during the weight loss, you maintain all you're (or build a little) muscle. As muscle needs about 50cals per day per pound to maintain (compared to about 1 calorie per pound of fat), this enables you to kleep yopu're metabolism high which ensures that you continue losing weight.

The results people have got on here speak for themselves; people have lost 3 stone in 12 weeks doing the weight loss plan (3 15-40 min w/o's a week and nothing more!) .

Join in with teh Dirty Dozen challenege and follow teh weight loss plan and diet plan to a tee and see for yourself!
