Yes thats what i thought in the end - i was going to go to the gym on friday but in truth wasnt feeling fully right - so i saved it for saturday and im sure i got a much better workout as a result.
Im on a plan with Anthony that has me 5 days on - alternating 2 weight programmes and cardio, with 2 days off. the cardio days are fairly light - 25 mins of interval work - at present I'm mostly using those to work on my running which i only started again 4 weeks ago following knee surgery. So its fairly light cardio while i build up my knee strength - 25 mins alternating 1 min walking with 1 min running, i barely get out of breath!
My calories are higher (1700 per day) to account for the extra work, and the cardio is also aimed at getting me back on the rugby pitch come October.
Cool, I knew Ant designed the program. I like the look of upper/lower splits but never done one. Maybe when my back is back on track and I can do enough leg exercises I'll give one a go sometime.
Thats cool, if the cardio is to help build up strength from previous injuries and is only light. I thought for a sec you wre either dpoing weight 5xa a week or heavy cardio too. lol
You are in very good hands with dea Anthony! He has helped me no end in teh past and I had the gains of my life on one of his programs.
Yeah the cardio is really light at the mo.. and i doubt the intensity will increase significantly until after ive hit my targets on this plan - by then it will be OK.
Yeah its been a great plan so far - better than any personal training ive paid fortunes for in the past - its the mix of diet and workout that Ive found most useful - usually a personal trainer will all but ignore diet, or at least not really give you the tools to improve diet that you need.

:-)))
Anthony is great value - cheaper than E diets, you get a hand tailored plan to suit your own goals with constant support, and he can answer all you training questions.
Im really pleased, i used to pay about 35 squid an hour for a PT, saw him weekly, checked BF etc monthly - and dont get me wrong i got good results - but i was also in the gym 6 days a week for 2 hours a time, and my diet - although largely clean was probably too high calorie wise due to portion sizes, and I was still having about 12 units of alcohol a week consistently.
I got into great shape and was fit as hell, but when my routine changed I didnt have the experience of good diet control to see me through that transition period, hence i put it all back on over a 2 year period.
This time i feel like Ive been given tools to make that easier in the future. Although its early days and I still have a way to go Im feeling good about it!
I know.. central London prices mate.. would probably be more now! He was the most expensive PT in my gym but was supposed to be the best and I dont do things by halves... at the time i didnt care because it was working really well and I was enjoying it - but now i can see there was a lot of room for improvement!
I dont think I would ever sign up with a PT long term.
There is a big need for education in terms of diet.
I think there is some need for some physical advice in terms of form, but you wouldnt need too much PT for that I imagine.
Personally I want to learn alot about exercises / muscles and food. There will always be a need for someone like Ant I guess to advise on changing routine/problems/plateuas etc but I would never pay 35 per hour to a PT. Where Ants prices are 40 for 12 weeks. I think thats tremendous value and Ant is probably as good as they come.
