just think... the more time you spend indoors training when the suns shining, the better you will look when your out walking in it! Or something like that... I quite like it - you dont have to spend that much time in the gym - and tends to be quieter on the sunny days..

Did Routine A tonigh before going out to a show:

Lunged with 12.5kg ( up 2.5kg)

Bench pressing still 10kg- it starts off feeling "easy" but if you stick to 4/4 it gets tough about rep 8.

Bicep curls - went for 7.5 kg and did reps to failure which was 8 - it gets it out the way faster.

Hmm, dont know how to add a lot more to the squats - my wrsits arent comfy trying to hold the weights on shoulders, but I can feel my legs have a lot more in them, should I work more on lunges as it is easier to add weights to that move????

I can feel I have more than a 10kg bench press in me - it is the number of reps which gets me.

It is amazing how much easier it is to train if you dont walk 10 miles before picking the metal stuff up :-)

what about trying split squats, doing one leg at a time?

Also why not try increasing the bench press but going a bit faster, then slow it down with each session until it's 4/4 again.*

*Yes I love these, why not try a drop set once a week or fortnight, do 7 reps with 12.5kg, then 7 with 10kg, then 7.5, 5, 2.5, 0kg. No rest between sets, get the dumbells all ready to go if you can. You'll be crying at the end in a good way :)

Much thanks for you input and the links Fellas :-)

Will wise up on split squats and practise a few before I do this routine again.

Nice idea with the bench pressing Greg :-)

It's a case fo getting the balance betweeen going for a bigger weight to increase the strength and doing the number of sets I like.

I know cutting the bicpe sets is "off plan" but I get bored doing sets of them as they are my least liked exercise, I hope less reps at a higher weight will get the bicpes a bit stronger as i will do them properly.

I'm still learning lots about training , and still having problems with the feral streak which takes me off plan.

sounds like peej is trying to cheat a bit with her workout!

tut tut :-P

What is wrong with the fact that bench pressing gets tough around rep 8? that is a good thing! Push hard then next time it may not get as tough until rep 9, then 10 etc etc then you'll soon be upping the weight.

Split squats are awesome! on a par with normal squats imo. I used to do them throughout all last year. I was on 2x16kg db's per leg. Now due to rehapb I'm back down to using 12kg dbs afor normal squats :-( Give me a year though! :-D

Stop being a wimp with curls too! it is the area you want to improve isnt it? so don't slack. Maybe ask Anthony about doing a rest/pause set (do a set to failure, then wait 15secs and do as many reps as you can again (which is generally only 20-4)). I do that atm; its a way of intensifying the exercise but doesnt require lots of sets.

Nothing wrong with it at all :-)

I was just stating that this is an exercise which I feel I can make further significant progress with, unlike the shoulder presses which I think I'll find it a lot harder to get another kilo onto.

Looking forward to trying split squats :-)

they are great! I remeber doing them supersetted with leg extensions during EMB then sometimes barely being able to stand back up with my own weight after. Ouchie!

Just done:
Routine B

5 second Negative Chin Up (2 sets of 4 )

3 mins rest

Deadlift 55k 6 reps x 2
No rest

Shoulder Press 8 kg 5 reps x2

2 mins rest

Deadlift 55kg 5 reps x 2
No rest

Shoulder Press 8 kg 5 reps x2

2 mins rest

Dumbell Rows 12kg 12 reps

Bench Dips with 10kg sand bag on lap 12 reps

2 mins rest

Dumbell Rows 12kg 10 reps

No rest

Bench Dips 10 reps

1 min rest

Bicycle Crunch 2 min

I am still splitting sets which is "wrong" I find this whole routine very hard to do in the week.

When I started DD challenge I was doing it on a Sunday morning an hour after brekkie , much tougher to do in the week after work.

I am tempted to repeat it Sunday just to get back to the original pattern of training days.
