I have been cutting it out, but not enough. I thought i had one slip up planned but there's been a lot more than i thought. Birthdays etc.

The lack of sleep has improved this week and i put the enjoyable sessions in the gym down to that. Don't know if it was stress or what, but it's certainly got better.

Fairly certain of improvement from here.

A good nights sleep is VERY important, if you are tired then you will not want to go to the gym. I am getting 9-10hrs sleep per night since trying to drop some fat and I have more energy. If I am tired then I get sloppy with workouts and diet.

The drinking isn't as bad as it could be. I drink vodka with a diet mixer when i'm out. Very rarely vodka and orange.
I've lost a lot of weight before by hitting vodka rather than beer.

I don't get kebabs or pizzas or anything like that.
My big problem is hangover days. I crave shit food. Or lots of semi-good food.

The 1lb was being sarcastic because i've done shit so far and maintained the same weight.

The problems so far have been lazyness. After long hours at work, where it's been very busy for 3 weeks, with very little sleep (no reason for that, just one of those things) i've completely relaxed afer work and have slightly over indulged in portions sometimes (not drastically though).
It's weekends that are my problem diet-wise as there's no routine. Whether i'm out on a Saturday night or not.

Loved the gym this week though and i think that will serve as the kick up the arse i needed.



At least you are honest about it.

Ok well I look forward to you pulling your thumb from your butt on this one and to seeing you lose those extra pounds!!

Cheers lads.

The problems with sleeping have actually been getting to sleep. Either too hot, thinking about random shit like work or literally just wide awake and getting pissed off because i can't get to sleep!!!

Got to be honest barcode, no point in kidding myself or others for that matter. Try not to make excuses, but when you explain your problems it tends to sound like one!

I had the same sleeping problem once - you could try a technique that helped me out, if you cant get to sleep in bed, get up, sit on a hard chair/somewhere uncomfortable and read a book or something until you start to feel sleepy, then try to go to bed and sleep - you might have to repeat this a few times in a night, but after a week or so you should have trained your brain and body that when it goes to bed it switches off and goes to sleep.

Cheers. Worth remembering. That has worked for me before when i realised i was either watching tv or playing about on computer too late before going to bed.

Hopefully the sleeping problems are behind me now.

Wouldnt you feel better going out when your in better shape?
Speaking from personal experience, the more weight I lose, the more confident I feel. If you carry on with your night out every weekend your body isnt going to change. You will wake up in 3 years time with the same body. Is that what you want? If it is, thats fine. If i were you I would ask myself, if I want to give up completely , or give it a 100%. Posting occasionally on here seems only to be giving lip service to what you should be doing, maybe it makes you feel like you are doing it.
The choice is yours mate, but I would make one, one way or the other.
Otherwise life will just pass you by.

As you said in your original post, Stu, you've done it before and you can do it again. I'm in the same position as yourself and put on tons of weight doing my finals this year. I'm almost back to square one. I'll be starting my half dozen training log soon and we should give each other dogs abuse if we're not on track.
Keep at it mate.

I've sprained my f£%*ing ankle. :@

This is the most ridiculous part. I don't know how and there was no alcohol involved!

I woke up on Sunday morning in complete agony. What terrified me at first is that there was a lot of pain around where there's a screw in my ankle. But that soon wore off.

only just started putting weight on it today. Been off work today and will be tomorrow. Cancelled a driving lesson which has cost me £18 as it was short notice. First gym session looks like it'll be thursday this week.

After such a good week last week :@
