I posted here a few weeks ago that, despite cutting my calories, I wasn't losing any weight. Upon further inspection, it turned out I was only eating around 900-1100 calories per day + exercising - not good!
Since then, I have upped the calories to 1500-1750 per day. I exercise pretty much 5 times a week (bodyweight exercises) and on one night, I do Muay Thai. The thing is, I'm still not losing any weight!!
I've been online and used a few online calculators to work out my BMR and from there I can work out how many calories per day I should be eating.
I used 4 and the results were: - 1500, 1528, 3100 & 3168.
Obviously, there is a massive difference between these figures. Could you please tell me how many calories I should be eating. This has been going on for far too long now and I am seriously considering giving up. What is the point in trying to eat correctly and exercise, when I am getting nothing to show for it?
Can you post up a typical days diet and some stats?
Male/female , age, height , weigh etc?
Doh!
I suppose information like that would come in quite useful!
Male
Age - 34
Height - 6ft 2
Weight - 14st 2lb
BF - 22%
I try to vary things every day so that I don't get bored, but I stick to 1500-1750 calories per day.
Breakfast - Muesli & a yoghurt
Lunch - Chicken salad
Dinner - Chicken/Fish/Pasta
Snacks - These can vary depending on whether I have used up my calorie allowance for the day.

Without wanting to question you too much...
How confident are you on the calories?
Do you weight things, especially pasta?
What kind of snacks? I am assuming no chocolate etc!
What do you drink? Coffee/Tea/Sugary drinks? How much water are you drinking?
I think your calories seem ok, but I am no expert. Do you cycle the calories?
Is your weight staying dead on the same?
Do you have a brief history of weight? ie did you every do lots of cardio of been on an extreme weight loss regime ? (thinking lighter life of that kind of thing).
Snacks include fruit, carrots, nuts & raisins, crackers & cheese - again, all dependant on the calories I have set aside.
As for drinks - no fizzy drinks, maybe only 1 cup of tea, maybe 1 glass of milk. The most of my fluid is through fruit squashes (no added sugar). Try as I might, I struggle to get through any more than 1-1.5 litres per day.
I havent been on any crash diets. To be honest, the weight has been creeping on over the past 3-4 years and I need to do something about it.
I don't cycle calories, I just try to get between 1500-1750 per day and my weight only varies by a few ounces up or down.

In that case we better wait for Anthony :)
I am sure there is a good reason or something else you can try so keep at it, and keep checking back for Ant.
Consider starting a training log too, that way you will get advice on your programme too.
If you over stress your body (too low calories, with too much exercise). It will be under too much stress and hold onto the fat. But put up your routine so we can have an idea of what you are doing at the gym.
