The library said they only have one copy of this book in the county apparently, and wanted to charge me to get it sent over here. She said it is a teenagers book?

sounds like she's talking out her arse to me, it's in nearly all bookshops in the science fiction section.

She said that is what it was filled under, she sounded like a simpleton tbh, it took her literally 5 mins to find the book (she just had to type the name and press enter on the PC), with various "um's ahhs", humming and singing inbetween.

I'll just buy it, only a fiver.
