You need to learn to punch properly and using wraps will do you no good I reckon... if you can't punch properly then do it gently til you know what you are doing.

You want em so you look cool in the gym... admit it!

I wouldn't worry... anyone who is a fighter can tell another fighter working a bag.... if you are thta bad you can wear Thai boxing shorts and no-one will believe you!

Already said this, but this is sooooo important! Learn to punch properly first and then worry about getting support for your wrists when you are attempting to thump someone.

Never heard of bag mits?

You don't need full on gloves and definately not wraps.

Thats fine if you want grazed knuckles!

Trust me, I have years of experience and you need bandages.

I don't know, aren't there 26 or so small delicate bones in the hand, the wraps are there to support your hand and wrist so you don't royally fuck them up. I only did boxing for a year in uni though. Wraps are only a couple of quid, and learning to put them on takes a few mins, that verses and crippled hand I know which I choose.

Bag mits if you want scaby knuckles fine.

Maybe Barcode just taps the bags, but when I do do it I really pound them. Wraps all the way for me, can't understand why anyone wouldn't really when training seriously. Also, some bags/speed balls can be really hard.

Up to you Pete.

Funny you say that but a lot of my bag work is rhythm. I will stand in front of the bag and with short punches at chest height just rock the bag left, right, left, right to build the natural 1, 2 rhythm in there. I can do that for 10, 15 or 20 minutes without stopping to get a nice sweat going and drips hitting the floor. After that I tend to do a few combinations for 5 minutes to finish off.

You're ok with mits then doing that, that's cool as you won't be hitting with force.

I actually trained for to be a boxer for a living (so I thought), so I suppose I am thinking more hardcore.
