So have you actually seen him yet?

If I saw my great love any time soon I'm sure I'd throw up or faint! Lets hope 25 years down the line I'd remain composed.

Other than his new location, what do you know about him, Beads?

You say you have a mixture of emotions regarding him, but is there one in particular that stands out?

huh?
yes, in the supermarket.

I didn't throw up or faint.. I did cuss a bit and privately bemoan the fact that I looked like crap having been gardening all afternoon

I know about his means of employment and his family.

the feeling that stands out the most is SURPRISE followed closely by delight to find him alive, well and happy. ( last two assumptions obviously although on fairly good grounds )

Well I dont see any harm in meeting him, whether or not you discuss your past relationship. We all have a past, I suppose it haunting us depends on how deeply we dig into it. A drink with an old friend would be fine I think.

I would be concerned if your overwhelming feeling was 'OH MY GOD HE IS AS GORGEOUS AS EVER AND I REALLY WISH I WASN'T MARRIED!'

Well, we'll see.

It's an odd feeling really. I need to get over the shock.

It's so long ago and so ingrained in my psyche - it would be sad to have the memory corrupted by 'fact' after all this time.

:-D funny old day.
It's certainly given me something to chuckle about though.

Which is why I think it is fine to meet! You are happy to see an old friend/partner, not desperate to meet up and pick up where you left off!

I love life's little quirks like that.

Although not the same, a quirk from my love life is that the two most serious girlfriends I have had were born on the same day, on the same ward in the same hospital! How bizarre!

Beads, if it wasn't an issue you wouldn't write it here as a question.

You'd have written... 'Guess what??... I bumped into my first love today and I didn't even recognise him, how funny is that? He has become a fat porker with buck teeth and I did well getting away from that one'

Bin the number and forget it.

we'll see.

I was just pondering the oddity of it really, rather than it being an issue.

I do acknowledge what you are saying though.

*thanks all
