I have a complete spread sheet programmed that i feed in all my essential costs (excluding food) i can go back 5 years and I can back all the figures up of the cost increases with the bills and it's frightening
With food you do have some choices as to where you purchase, go to Sainsbury’s you’ll pay top dollar ect. but with life’s essentials heat, light and water your stuffed there is no competition, what many people don’t realise is with Gas and Electricity all the providers use exactly the same method of charging i.e by Kilowatt Hour plus standing charges so basically you may save a little in the short term as the supply companies via for custom and offer an entry level deal but essentially they all use the same tariffs
I posted some where last week that Warburtons had just raised the cost of a loaf of sliced white bread by 10% a loaf at Morrisons is now £1.11
No sweeping statement was made. The definition of a pseudo-intellectual is that they know little, if any, of what they are commenting about.
Could you explain why inflation is rising as it is?
What tools the government have to counter act this?
What the efffect of fractional reserve banking has on inflation and/or interest rates?
I am interested.
The true pseudo-intellectual disease - making sweeping statements that have no justification. Get off your high horse, pal and stop making comments about people you don't even know

"The true pseudo-intellectual disease" - seems a bit of a sweeping statement to me. And you see fit to make judgement about what I do and don't know. It seems that you are commenting about somebody about whom you know nothing.

* vague expression about pots and kettles *
I have not commented on your knowledge of economics, merely the statement about the British 'disease', as you would have it.
Do you know everyone in Britian? If not, then that statement was a generelization, mine was not as my other post said.

I don't have knowledge of those points, neither have I claimed to, but it is common sense to note that, in some items, inflation is above 3%.

Where would conversation be without generalisation?
Is there a need for such a combative attitude?
The generalisation that everyone in Britiain has a disease of 'whining about everything'? That's not part of the actual conversation, it's just a complaint about people who are angry with the rising, and unfair, cost of living.
