Okiedokes, got OH to snap my 1 week late before pics this morning (sorry they're a bit rubbish, was running late) and I am in utter, utter despair.... I truly didn't realise how lardy I look to others and I was somewhat anxious about posting these pics before I saw them! 10 times worse now :o( BTW I deliberately chose what I was wearing to emphasise my lardiness not being able to do the topless in shorts sort of snaps that the blokes do.

Anyway, here is my lard montage:

Hey Sassy, well done for posting the pics.

Firstly do not panic- that its the "worst" you'll be looking this year.

You have started a plan which has lost you 2 pounds of fat already - give it six weeks and you can be about a stone lighter.

Stick with it - most importantly count the calories, and keep on at the exercise to boost the weightloss.

Go for it Sassy!

Well done for posting your pics.
Its a good motivator when you start succeding, to compare the pictures.
You might take some more fleshy pics for personal use (not naked) maybe a bikini or something. This way you will be able to see the difference some more.

There have been lots and lots of successes on this website (personally I am around the 3.5 stone lost mark since January). This isnt becuase I or others are special. We have a great source of information on here in terms of fitness and nutrition. The people who do well , are the people who follow it and are disciplined. This comes down to how much you want to lose weight.

We will support you all the way, but at the end of the day we cant watch what you eat. Be honest, and it might not be easy to be fully disciplined, but do it for 4-6 weeks and I imagine you will start feeling a difference in your clothes.
Best of luck, you can do it.

Time to get serious!...... Lardycat64

Thank you for the encouragement PJ and Lard, it's a huge help! I decided to edit the thread title because when I opened the thread I was feeling good about losing a couple of pounds and in generally good form. Having looked at those pics of myself though I'm feeling quite disgusted with myself at the moment and realise I have a very long way to go. I have stuck to the plan this past week and am finding the calorie counting and reduced food intake no problem, the exercise is trickier as I have trouble finding the time but at the very least I am managing the weight exercises on the starter plan. If I increased my physical activity levels would I get slimmer sooner? I find it a bit tough that in going from eating what I wanted (which included lots of large lunches and eating out and shifting a couple of bottles of wine at weekends) that the excess seems to be so slow at shifting. I'm not disheartened but seeing those pics has filled me with what can only be described as grim determination.

Cheers Sassy

ETA just noticed that my edit of the thread title didn't work lol.

I am kind of with you on that one. When you feel disgusted with yourself (as I do) it seems to "not be worth it". However I know I am improving my body and therefore feeling less and less disgusted.
If you think your pics are disgusting you should see mine!!
Keep it up, but remember its not going to change in a week or two.
Dont expend your energy now when your highly motivated. The fat loss is just about what you eat on a daily basis. Sometimes when I am really focused I just want to run and run like rocky , but at the end of the day its barely going to make a difference. Its your diet that counts. Just relax with the whole diet side of things, and if you can tick off in your head at the end of each day that you have ate well, give yourself a pat on the back, feel proud, in 4-6 weeks your clothes will start feeling looser. Remember 12 weeks will make a big difference in your body shape. Its nothing compared to the rest of your life.
Here is my back pick from the 12 weeks Mr Mansized challenged which came before our current one. I think there is quite a difference, and all it needs is a bit of discipline. I really want you to do well, and get your kylie arse back ;-)

Wel , it took about a year of the above to add the 2 stone.

The good news is if you stick with the "new you" plan with your current determination you could get it most of it shifted in 12 weeks AND you get fitter into the bargain.

It is a win/win situation :-)

Prepare to drop a couple of dress sizes, feel happy looking at pictures of yourself, and whinge about all the clothes which no longer fit.

Sassy... time to start running.

I have heard all the excuses why not to do cardio etc but I do it and I shed weight like it is going out of fashion.

Weights on one day 2 to 3 mile run the next and alternate that.

Watch those calories and the weight will fall off of you.

Maybe keep a tab for one month with cardio and one without.... I did... and the cardio showed better results.

You will succeed... you have the right mindset.

Do you know how much muscle is included in that weight you have lost?
