I can't believe how serious we all take it. Champ and FM really do have a cult following. A few of my friends and I have probably wasted about a year of our lives on the games. It's crazy.

Scenario:
"Should I study? Nah, I'll finish this season and I have to sign that young kid from Brazil in the next transfer window..."

Wow! The longest career I had was about 15 years. All the great players at the time became coaches and I signed alot of them, even some of my own former players. It gets strange when the game begins to invent people and you don't know who's who.

The new Brazilian players don't have nicknames, they have all their long names! I used to go in and give them nicknames... Sad?

I love that, I had Sol Campbell as my assistant manager for years :)

It's my most impressive career, wasted weeks of my life playing it :D

I've easily wasted years on this game. GCSE, BND and degree would all have been better grades if it wasn't for this game.

I've read that un-even tactics are the best to fool the AI. Not seen much difference myself.

If there was some logic in this game it would be superb, but FM08 has been disappointing, yet still addictive.

Any tips STE?

All the teams I've played agaijnst have played 4-4-2 or switched to 4-2-4 if I'm a couple of goals up

You can score lots of goals from corners if you have a DC with good heading/jumping.
Aim your corners to 6 yard box, and tell your DC with good heading to challenge keeper. My Leeds DC scored 20 goals in one season doing this!

At home – play more attacking, especially if you’re odds on favourite. I usually push up at home and play wider and tell my full backs to get forward. More people on forward runs etc.

Away, I usually play cagey and look to hit teams on the break with counter attack.
Deeper def line, narrower play, time wasting etc.

Always have a plan B.

If I’m chasing a goal, I go with a target man with supply to head. I keep a big striker on the bench for this, he’s my plan B.

Morale is very important, probably too important. Don’t be afraid to criticise your players if they are not performing, sometimes they will agree and their morale will jump to superb, likewise if they are playing well.

I only use team talks if morale is low. If they have good morale, I don’t feel the need to do a team talk. I tent to use individual team talk. If they win I always say well done or superb if they get a 9 or more.

That’s just off the top of my head.

What do you mean? Just unusual tactics?

unsymmetrical

if you've got an AMC you want behind the striker, you might have more luck if he's not directly behind.

this is the problem. it's cheating. no logic / realism what so ever.
