Bear in mind though they are very temporary.

This is correct, they'll last as long as you take the product then slowly drop off... although it does depend on the intensity of the training... I found it lasted longer if I REALLY put the effort in... thus it looks like the strength gains are more permanent...

You will build "muscle" but it's not as much as it would appear to be...

But if I am stronger surely when I drop the creatine I can still lift heavier weights etc?

It seemed to have an impact with me, could be just a mental thing though. i.e you mentally know you can lift it so you do etc etc

Because it's not actual strength gains. In the simplest terms, you're just providing more of what the muscle uses as energy. Take it away, and you take the effects of it away too.

As you say though, there is alot of research and there are benefits during a strength or muscle building cycle. If you're looking to get some creatine though, make sure you get the powdered stuff, that it says monohydrate and not ethyl ester, and it has the Creapure logo on it to avoid stomach upset.

This answer will also tell you how to take it for maximum results based on the current research:

How much creatine do I need for muscle growth?

Good Luck!

Anyone taking it? Any thoughts?

I have decided to add it in to my supplements as of... well 5 minutes ago when I took my first dode of creatine Monohydrate.

Looking forward to the thoughts and experiences of others on the site.

I have also just started taking Creatine. I bought the tablets from H & Barrett. the intructions say to take 3 before and three after exercise. I rang H & B and asked them whetehr I should tke creatine on the days I was NOT exercising.

They said 'no'

That's wrong isn't it?

Totally wrong, you cycle Creatine for up to 8 weeks, not like protein drinks and stuff when you take after training etc .....
