England's problem is that their top players just don't do it in the big games. Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard, etc, when was there last really good game for England? When was Englands last really really good performance? And if things are going wrong, shove Crouch up front on his own and punt longs balls from the full back position. Even Capello did it against USA, so I'm starting to think if he's the answer.

Despite a poor campaign, we still had a chance to qualify in our last game at home and it was a complete disaster - changing goalkeeper for last game, doing 2-0 down, manager giving up and blowing chance despite only needing a draw.

One has to give Capello time - it is different to to from one system to another; hence, he is making progressive changes. Plus, we do not have the best bunch of strikers, Rooney, Owen (if fit) and Crouch mainly used as sub and not given a proper chance; others are hit-and-miss like Defoe.

yes i thought russia were excellent, deserved to beat the dutch who i thought were really poor, spain italy was a bore as well, enjoyed the pens though.
