Germany versus Spain.

The RTÉ pundit, Éamonn Dunphy reckons that Germany are a bad side who have "one or two good players", those being, "Ballack on his day" and "Lahm, who is terrible defensively". He points out that Germany have avoided the "big guns, like France, Italy, Holland, Spain", meaning they've had, in his opinion, an easy draw. When Liam "Chippy" Brady alluded to Germany's mental fortitude and strong self-belief, Dunphy retorted with "This mythical thing called belief does not outweigh talent.".

I like Dunphy and I appreciate the fact that he is a controversy-monger, but I have to disagree with his analysis that Germany are "rubbish". I think that Germany have played good simple football perfectly throughout the tournament and any team would find it difficult, especially in a final, where the pressure is on, to beat them.

Spain have an abundance of class and plenty of match-winners in their squad, so undoubtedly Germany's defensive weaknesses will be exposed, which is why I think they'll go for 5-4-1 or else 4-1-4-1.
