Does anyone else yearn for a different lifestyle?
The 9-5 work, materialistic way we live just feels like something is missing. I want to go back to times of living together as a community without the need for the latest gadget.
What to do though? It's impossible to lead a bohemian lifestyle succesfully in today's world surely....

You could do it if you didn't live in the UK... there are many countries where the cost of living is so low that 3 months work in the Uk will pay for the flights and lifestyle in somewhere like say Goa.

That's not so much being bohemian though as an extended holiday surely?

Isn't that the problem: what "bohemian" means to one person is something different to someone else.
@Apple: what's your definition of "Bohemian"

I was introduced to someone at my work a while back who does this. He lecturers in the uk for 6 months then spends the other 6 months abroad. Think his other home was in Africa somewhere.

One of my friends does it similarly Matt. He works hard for 6 months, then takes 6 months holiday touring random countries or just doing different things in the UK to keep him interested.

Oh hell yeah, but it's the affording to live and having a limited period of time there which isn't bohemian.
