Well, there I was in Lidl at lunch time, having gone in for one item, walked up to the single cashier and stood in line. The couple in front of me were unloading their very full trolley and I thought, damn it I'm going to be here for ages. No worries, I thought, and politely asked if they would mind me going in front of them with my one item (I had cash in my hand as well, they wouldn't even have needed to wait for me to put in my pin number!)
"No, you wait" came the very terse reply. I actually thought he was joking till I saw his very stern face. The couple behind me were gobsmacked, as I was.
The cashier rang the bell, got another till opened, I went through in about 20 seconds flat.
Bastards, that's all I can say. How bloody rude. I'm not superstitious at all, but if there really is such a thing as karma I hope the milk cartons burst in the boot of his car:-)
they had the right to say no... if you were in a hurry get there earlier ;-)
I agree, of course they did, but I don't know of anyone who would be so horrible. I wasn't actually in a hurry, I'm not an impatient person, I like to think I'm very tolerant. In fact I had backache and wasn't enjoying standing up or walking at the time, however that's completely beside the point!
The bloke behind me said 'bloody foreigners'. Considering I had only heard 3 words and hadn't detected an accent, I have no idea if he was right or not!
I enjoy being polite and chivalrous to people, it makes those around you happier. Maybe that couple don't have a nice life.

Totally agree with you that they were rude and nasty people. I would have let you through.
:-D it is good food in there you know... some of their cheeses and sausages... to die for! Some of their stuff is cheap shit mind but most is just as good, if not better, than elsewhere and a heck of a lot cheaper.
