I have a steak to eat tonight. I was wondering how i could use some pesto with it? Any ideas?
Would the taste be worth it?
Cook the steak with the pesto on it or in it? Add it after?

Do you have one of those griddle pans? you know, with ridges in it.
pre heat your oven to about 220
get the pan really hot - smoking hot. Sear the steak on each side for like a minute and a half each side. Take it off the heat and spread your pesto. Then put it in the oven for about 5 mins.
works well if you mix some breadcrumbs or crushed crackers with the pesto. I do this with fish but without the searing first.
ETA: rest the steak for about 5 when you take it out the oven.

how about sealing it in a frying pan?

frying pan is fine. Just dont put oil in the pan. Rub a bit on the steak first - lots of pepper too. Remember to get your pan really hot though. Bloody hell, I'm hungry again now!

It turns out it's not much of a steak.
Going to grill it. Put a bit of pesto on and put it back under.
