The problem with Apple, is that their products are good and everyone knows it. It's hard to dispute that there's a single reason that the iPod sells. It's bloody good...
The software, iTunes, is without a doubt the best music software available. The design of the iPod is sublime. And it sounds great...
And now that the battery life issue has been sorted out, it's hard for any one to produce an "ipod beater".
Although to be honest as a video player it's not exactly that hot, but then again I have a portable DVD player for my videos, I have an Ipod for my music. You can't watch the Sopranos walking to work or when your jogging, you can on a train however... Where you can carry your "bulkier" device.
