Just found this article on T Nation and thought it was interesting!
It breaks down different types of people and where they are mentally reagarding their fitness and diet.
I'd say I'm at Unconscious Competence. What about you?
Will read it fully later, I'd say I was in-between.
Unconscious Competence - I'm certainly no where near the condition they are using, infact the pictures are fat and ripped to shreds, no middle ground. My actions are pretty unconscious, but there is more to life than diet and exercise so I certainly wouldn't deny myself food on a holiday, I try to eat what I want, which makes it enjoyable, I've tried to make it so that the things I want are healthy, or a proper portion size.
Well it's a bit too basic to categorise everything, but I'd say I was at level 2 - conscious incompetence for most aspects. I am trying to edge over to conscious competence :)

It's not meant to be an indicator of physical fitness, more an indicator of where you are mentally.
But, T Nation being T Nation has to put in grossly exaggerated pictures to illustrate their point!
I'm nowhere near the picture but I don't think about my choices any more. I just go for the healthiest option. If I have 100 calories left over, I'll have a small egg salad rather than a packet of low fat crisps or small piece of chocolate. If I have 20 minutes to spare, I'll go for a walk rather than veg out in front of the tv.
That's not the way I intended it to be! I remember one of my first posts was about how, if I wanted an Easter Egg, I'd eat one and no damned diet was gonna stop me! But now, I just don't want them. I walked past a chip shop last night and smelt the food inside but didn't care. I just felt sorry for the people queuing up inside (a bit arrogant and condescending I know, but that's just how my mindset has altered with this challenge.)
