Yeah, but they probably didn't try to do an Apprentice with their application form - just state you have a 2.2 and see what happens, if they reject that's life, if you lie then who knows who else they'll tell.
The problem is more not even being able to apply for some of the online applications. I plan on being honest with them, but to at least get my chance to speak to them I'm willing to be a little cheeky.
I know Dr P and others are right, I'm not getting too disappointed just yet. I just want the chance to sell myself, it's not getting that chance that's frustrating.

It really must be so frustrating, especially as a lot of application screen you out before you even put your name on the form with killer questions to stop you wasting too much time on them.
I am sure some of the jobs that I am applying for I would be able to do, but the screening bumps you out - I am learnign to adapt bits of my CV and asking more probing questions of the recruitment consultants to see what the job spec is, and then tweaking accordingly.
I agree with you - I applied to IBM, etc. but I did not have a 2:1 so didn't go through to 2nd round which takes the piss.
BUT, there is an article in Guardian about this and that it may soon change due to some discrimination. I can't find a link on guardian.co.uk but will look up the title when I get home.

How is that discrimination ?
What rubbish.
Indeed - education and political correctness are both going potty.
There is an article today about the difference in difficulty between arts and science subjects and how the exam grades should then have a difficulty scale attached to them. And then the case of the student who was awarded 2 points (out of 27) for writing 'Fuck off' as an answer to a question, as it demonstrated how s/he/it was able to interpret and formulate a response of some kind. The student may have got an extra point if they had used an exclamation mark after it.

...
In one of my places of employment, somebody drafted an ad that said applicants would not be discriminated against on the grounds of "age, race, sex, sexuality or ability"!
It probably should have said 'disability' - but you can't tell these days.

The mind boggles...
I saw that, could they have spat on the page and drawn a willy, that also shows some kind of response. Also, if someone had wrote a response, which was the wrong answer, would they get marks just for having a go? I don't think so, because what is the point in an exam which awards points for writing anything.

That can't surely be true?!
*feels much better about getting my results*
Well done Loki on your graduation and don't lose heart.
I can't believe you didn't show us your legs in your kilt though ;)
Applied for so many jobs, ranging from higher level admin (which I have the bulk of my experience in) to new opportunities where you are expected not to have any real skills.
Very demoralising being refused and not getting even an interview, as I feel that if I could get to an interview I could really sell myself.
Can't do anything about it but plugging on and hoping I'll get somewhere, I just hope soon! Been over my CV dozens of times and tailoring cover letters and personal statements to each job application to match what they want, but alas still no luck :(
