It's a transliteration of an arabic name into roman alphabet, so there is no single correct spelling.
It's like with Osama bin laden - there are several ways of spelling it in English (whereas in Arabic only one) which meant the FBI filed reports on him in different sections so apparently no one had a single file with all the info :-/

Why would Barack Obama put his race before official American foreign policy, or be public about such a move before he'd been elected? Clearly Gadafhi wants him to lose because he's now a Christian, even if he spouts publicly about the colour issue.
It's more about the american public and media seeing his skin colour as an issue... the US are so extreme in opinion. The majority are not liberal and the one that are liberal, are fickle and self absorbed. I'm generalising of course.
I can never quite figure out if Ghadafi is insane or just stupid. He loves making these grandiose statements on behalf of people who have no wish for him to do so.
However coming to the actual point of discussion is Obama's statement that under his presidency the US would maintain that Jerusalem was the capital of Israel. Not even the current administration, one of the most pro Israeli in years, has gone that far. As far as I know, neither the UN nor a single country in the world recognises Jerusalem as belonging solely to Israel, and have hteir embassies in Tel Aviv. Presumably Obama is working hard to get AIPAC and co on his side.
I don't know why the western world even bothers with all these countries like Iraq, Iran, North Korea, etc, etc. Let them have their stupid in-wars about race and religion and where Jeruslam is. Let them commit genocide and mass rape, and stop giving them a load of bloody money, especially in Africa, which is another backwards, mess of a country.
If they have any plans to attack the west, then just drop a nuclear bomb on the country, kill them all, then there's no problem. The world would be a better place without these kinds of countries anyway.
Maybe we could reciprocate by not invading to control their resources?
Yeah, we shouldn't have got involved, and we shouldn't have started that war, but if they did have real plans to attack the west, then I'd just nuke them, and probably texas whilst I was at it.
