M Night Shyamalan's eco disaster tale won't be the hit he needs, but it's still worth a look. Click for our verdict, the trailer and tell us what you think.
it raises a few thoughts, but it could have been so much better, evertime something i wanted to see happened, it panned away, rubbish, i wanted to see the guy go under the lawnmower and more blood and guts would have been better.
Haven't seen this yet, but I plan to. I liked both the village and the lady in the water. They are thrillers and maybe they are pedestrian, but it gives you more chance to immerse yourself in the characters. The stand out performances in those two films are the protagonists Joaquin Phoenix and Paul Giamatti respectively. Paul Giamatti is especially good, as he is in the illusionist. I hope Mark Wahlberg can compete.
Anyway thanks for the review, i'll ignore the other reviews and make sure I watch this film.
I went to see this the other day with a friend. We were bored and thought we should check out what was on in the cinema and because we'd missed a bit of the Hulk, we decided to see what Marky Mark's latest endeavour was like. I was sadly disappointed and although I wanted to walk out after 10 minutes, I stayed, to finish my popcorn and drink and I have to say, I was interested as to what kind of ending this monstrosity would produce.
I'm sorry, but I can't agree with the verdict that gives this film 4 stars. Although the film's premise may have had promise, the film was certainly a let down. M. Night Shyamalan should not be allowed to write and direct films - his track record definitely speaks for itself. He took a simple plot, which had a degree of versatility and effectively removed all excitement and intrigue. I enjoy Marky Mark, but I don't think he's suited to a leading role (as can be seen in Boogie Nights and Planet of the Apes). I reckon he's much more suited to supporting roles where he usually steals the show, (i.e. The Departed).
I don't advise anyone to waste money going to the cinema to have their intelligence and eyeballs assaulted by this cinematic tragedy.
