All those people queueing , why the hell don't they just wait a week or two? Apparently majority of the new phones won't connect to 02 because there are too many of them trying at same time!

I didn't realise that it has been launched simultaneously in 22 countries today, either!
After a horrifically heavy drinking Thursday evening, I eventually dragged myself to one of my local o2 stores around 11am. Turned out I could get an 8GB iPhone, but the 16GB had all gone. And since I'm eager to make full use of my iPhone as my standard music player too, I've decided to wait for next weeks stocks and upgrade hopefully by the middle of the week.

I am probs gonna wait until the middle of August when it comes to my contract renewal time, and see if there is any deal to be done.
What contract are you currently on, ChrisP? Is it ready for an upgrade?
I don't get people who upgrade, change contracts mid-contract, cos do they not incur penalties, or extra charges?
Is there a great deal of difference between the iPhone and the Touch? I'd quite like the new iPhone but don't fancy paying O2's rip off tariffs. I've got a decent enough phone and really want one more for the internet than anything else.

Currently on the £35 a month deal, with minutes and unlimted texts. It's time for my upgrade too, which makes the iPhone 3G's release most timely for me.
A local Carphone Warehouse worker has taken my name and number and offered to give me a call when the next batch of 16GB phones arrive. Which was nice of him.

Same as me - I get so many minutes currently (something like 2500 a month) that there is no way I would use them all, so the 600 on the £35/month tariff would be more than sufficient for me

Remember that you get your choice of 'bolt on' with that £35 a month contract too. Can plump for extra minutes, unlimted texts, untlimted data etc...
