How do you know you are overtrained, any symptoms?
I feel a lot of muscle soreness/aches lately, much more than usual.
Anything to do with it?

There are loads of things that may be the symptoms of overtrainig, I've a list in one of the books I have - I can't remember them all but the one's that stuck with me are:

Loss of appetite
Loss of interest in working out
Workout's plateauing/ not progressing

The loss of interest in workout out is the big one for me, I can be enthusastic about training for weeks/ months, reading everything I can about training in books, magazines & on the web then all of a sudden I'll totally not care

I used to do a 6 day split routine and found after a few months that I was getting fed up of training, I think this was an example of me over training as I rarely get like this.. my only problem is getting to the gym never mind training too much!

Thought I had asked this before.

Been feeling achy all week, and dont feel like the gym tonight (as I didnt on Monday).
I am going to go tonight anyway, just wondering if I am over trained, but I find this unlikely after only 5 weeks training?

I doubt your over training. Maybe you need more carbs?

Yeah unlikely you are over training, it's more likely to be lack of energy from your reduced cals. Also, you getting enough sleep? Don't feel to stressed about anything else?

I am sleeping fine. A little stressed with work, but no big deal.
I sometimes think its the diet/exercise that makes me a bit worn out.
I dont feel lack of energy as such, more just worn out.
I feel quite sprighlty in other ways.

dunno, just thinking of boxers/footballers etc that train everyday, they eat loads of pasta etc.

If your aching though isn't that a good thing?
