I have been reading a book these past few days (honest, I have!), which made me think about what ‘health’ means, in the widest sense.
Fitness is a small part of it, but there are other important aspects of a healthy body and mind
What would you add to the list ?
Fit
Energetic
Free from ailments
Free from stress
Contentment in personal / professional life

As a smoker I would add free from addictions to the list (Paul McKenna book/cd not working yet!)

I think they are all intrinsically linked at some stage...
I'm fairly fit... working out makes me fitter and happier... also helps with dealing with stress.
My personal life and working life are better if I am feeling better.. returning back to my second sentence.

So you use exercise as a way of controlling the symptoms of stress, rather than dealing with the cause?
Sorry Noff, that's not personal attack, but you see where I am going - I'm not sure if a stressed person can be healthy and happy .

What do you class as a healthy body? a disablilty or impairment, is that still seen as a healthy body?

Yes and no.... I am healthy... maybe not happy, well not always happy and I'm trying to not stress about things out of my control.... which is the main problem.

Not for me to say - but there are a number of people for whom what we call a 'disability', does not stop them from enjoying a very full and active life.
Therefore they could still be healthy, fit, well and happy

Fitness is a small part. A healthy mind is very important. I agree with all those you listed and would add maybe
'having a positive outlook'
Some people are so used to focusing on the negative aspects of their lives they forgot the positives.
