Just out of curiosity, does anyone else often come away from these feeling like a dick for no particular reason?
I just had an email chat with my ex and even though she had the odd dig and I deliberately avoided any such comments and any possible provocation (which in the context would have been so easy!) in return but I still managed to come away from it thinking that I came across as a nob. Now I am bugged by it! She has a gift for winding me up like no other.
This is why I tried to avoid any conversations with her but I don't ignore them when she starts them up.
Please tell me this is a common thing!

I think online chats, be it email, text or messenger are much easier to misinterpret that face to face.
There is no body language, accent, eye contact, smile or emphasis, so a seemingly innocent phrase can mean totally the opposite at the other end.
*tries to think up such a phrase to insult Jock

That must be the first time you haven't come up with an insult! This has been a remarkable day

Now you see, if I didn't see the smile on the hidden webcam, I might have been insulted !

Thats the problem with not having people under 24/7 surveilance, you can't tell their expressions. I'm all for it myself. Jocks watching you...
