I heard on the radio this morning about a woman who was given 9months, for leaving her 2year old boy in the kitchen.

She went out partying with her boyfriend the whole weekend.

The boy was only found because he had manage to turn a tap on that started floading the neighbours, else he may have beeen left for even longer than the 2 days.

Some people should not be allowed to have kids. Maybe there shiould be some licence you have to apply for and pass to show you are fit enough to have kids.

I read that too... she left food and drink sitting out for the poor nipper to help himself to... like leaving pet food in a bowl! Don't get me started on neglectful parents it's one of my pet hates.... and definitely don't get me started on the subject of a certain couple who appear to be getting off scot free with at the very least child neglect because they are professionals in the "caring" profession and not like this sink estate lass!

Sorry for the rant *blushes*

Evil - DEvil!

Interesting.... but I don't think Nietzsche meant that. He was German and it doesn't quite translate ;-)

Nine months? BBC3 just reported 18 but I suppose 9 is what she'll actually serve. Please God let's hope the council get him adopted out rather than letting her have him back, by her actions it's not like she gives a toss about him.

As for the killer of her own kid, any sentence over 10 years is rare in this country, judges nearly always go soft when the Mum kills her own kid as opposed to someone else's - but thankfully not this time.
