Alright, just thought I would post this up for the other parents on here who may have bought some Lindam stairgates from Argos - I got a letter through the post yesterday saying some of the products ae being recalled as they are not totally safe..see below. If you do have one of these, take them back to Argos, Lindam will only refund you for any of the gate extensions you got off them.
Lindam Safety Gates – catalogue numbers – 375/3282, 375/3086
We have identified an issue with the above stair gates where the plastic hinge mounting can break in use. As a result the gate can fall from the frame. Injury may occur if this happens in use, as well as the further potential for injury once the gate has become detached and ceases to be an adequate barrier to potentially hazardous situations.
The issue only affects products purchased after 14th December 2007 with WHITE plastic hinges (shown on the right) marked with the model number on the bottom of the gate (right) LD145 or LD146
