Arghh the Ministry of Fun Prevention AKA local council is nuts!!!

I am trying to organize “colleague event “of either:

BBQ on the beach or Picnic in the park.

Council response is:

The BBQ is permitted after 6pm, but it is not permitted between the two piers or between Medina Villas and Hove Street. They do not permit more than 20 people at the gathering either!!

A picnic for a large group of people is subject to applying for an events license, public liability insurance, etc!! Not as cheap as we thought it would be.


And I still have to make ritual sacrifices to the Elves of Safety :-(

Five impromptu picnics / BBQs for 19 people each, coincidentally occurring on the same evening would bypass the regulations.

We are looking at aobut 40-60 people.

When I were a lass we just headed for the beach or park with food, drink and firewood, jumpers for goal posts, French cricket, volleyball and fun without rules.
