We have had our labrador, Alfie for 18months now. My parents wanted him to be a father and breed him so a few weeks ago we got another pedigree labrador from a totally different source. My mum just checked their papers (they are both pedigree) and they have the same father.
My mum is selling her now as she can't be bred with him now. I'm so sad for her!

I'm sorry, I actually laughed because it sounds like a dog soap opera :P
Are you going to get a different one then? How much does all this cost?

Don't laugh I'm gutted!!!!
Well Alfie cost us £550 origionally, and the bitch cost £500. She'll sell for this though and then we will buy another totally different bitch.

Poor Alfie!
Talk about a prick teasing scenario.
Give us an update when Alfie gets his :-)

Not brilliant for the gene pool really if pedigrees are sufficiently inter bred that 2 dogs from random sources share a parent :-(
Are you allowed to check pedigrees before you buy?

Makes me wonder sometimes about all these little chavs who inseminate various women and then do a bunk.
The prospects for unintentional intermarriage are massive !

That's true PJ- you'd never think two utterly different sources in entirely different areas (and we were told she was born in France) would be relations.
You can check papers before they are purchased so that lesson has been learned.

Hope you find another good 'un - must be hard to part with a pup as they are pets first and breeding stock second .
