All benny wants for Xmas

Im going to be following one of Anthonys weight loss plans. My aim over the next few months is to lose a stone maybe even a stone and a half. Anything over that would be a bonus. Currently 27 and just over 14 and a half stone and 6 foot tall. I work a shift pattern and the job isnt great for developing healthy eating habits so going to make a real effort to improve on eating habits. Im going on holiday aftet the first part of the challenge and it would be really freat to be in better shape by then.

Set yourself a more defined target, that way you know when you're on track and if you've achieved something. If you're doing the first half i.e. 7 weeks, why not challenge yourself to lose xlb a week, making it a (7*x)lb goal. If you only have a roundabout figure like above, you'll never really know if you hit it!

Good luck with the challenge! I hope you're here at the end!

With regards to meals, prepare them beforehand and take them to work with you. Then you can eat them on your break. Planning's extremely important to the success of any weight loss plan. Good luck!

My target is going to be to get to 13 and a half stone within the first 7 weeks, currently 14 stone 8 lb so 2 lbs per week.

Ok, here are my 'before' pics. Weighed myself in the gym this morning and Im 93.6kg. Which is around 14 stone 7lb.Its the heaviest I've ever been and a bit of a shocker. Whilst I found it easy throughout university to keep in good shape even running half marathons and the london marathon since entering the stressful world of work I've slipped into bad habits and put on weight. A fairly typical story Im sure.
Anyway, Im following Anthony's starter plan that I found in the answers section above. I took a while to decide whether to follow the starter plan or the gym rat plan. I fit somewhere in the middle and whilst my macho pride would like for me to take up the gym rat challenge I have decided to just start at the start! Ill be following the starter plan and really focusing on my diet during the next 7 weeks. My aim is still to be 13 stone 7lbs by October 10 when Im going on holiday. After that if Ive managed to shift the weight Ill reasses and set new goals before Christmas.

A week in and a quick update.

Both the diet and the gym work has been going well but then Im sure that the first few weeks are going to be the easiest of this challenge.
I've been steadily increasing the weighs im lifting in the gym and am actually enjoying being back in the gym and having real structure to my workouts. I sometimes worry that I should be doing more in the gym, the workout is fairly short but Im making sure that my form is as good as it can be and that I stick to the 4/4 tempo.
Im pleased to say that I've lost 4 pounds and am down to 14 stone 4 lbs after the first week. Cant really complain. Just got to keep making progress.

I think I'm the opposite to you! I find the first couple of weeks the hardest, then it gets easier once I've settled into a routine.

getting into the routine is good but whilst its great to lose 4 lbs in the first week im sure its going to slow down which could get disheartening.

That's true but by that time you'll be in a routine and on 'automatic pilot'. I just weighed myself every 4 weeks and used the mirror any time I wanted to have a quick check on my progress.
