Haven't posted for ages but received the email notification about this challenge and since i';ve been slacking recently thought i should get involved and back in the game.
It all started when Casino Royale was released. I was looking around fro a Daniel Craig workout plan and stumbled onto this site. Using the workout from here, i managed to bring my weight up from around 11 and half stone to the 14 stone that i am now. Since reaching this weight I've been slacking a bit and need to make the final push to 15, which was always my aim.
About me:
I'm 26 years old 6'2 and 14 stone exactly, was as high as 14,4 but my diets been crap lately.
Another knock on effect of the film was me researching what fighting styles, special forces, military etc use. I started training in Urban Krav Maga, and recently passed the instructors course. i now teach urban Krav Maga for a living
I have weights at home and go to the gym regularly. I'm happy to go 3 times a week. i have 2 lessons a week which i can use as my cardio because i warm up with my students
So basically I'm looking for a new James Bond workout to re inspire me and take me to the promised land of 15 stone 00 status.
I'll try and find a camera for pics cause my phones on the blink.
Welcome back Meester Bond. Nice thread title and we'll do our best on getting you an update to the Daniel Craig plan. Bet Anthony is loving all the extra work I'm giving him!
I teach my lessons in Harrow.
I must admit, some of the instructors I've come across are gits, and some organisations price people out of learning. I was a student myself when i began the lessons and couldn't have afforded to go to some other ones.
Luckily i stumbled on Urban Krav Maga, which is taught and handled generally a bit differently.
Krav Maga is a generic Hebrew term meaning “contact combat”.
Krav Maga is identified by many people as the unarmed combat system of the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) and the success of the various styles of Krav Maga has been partly due to this assocuation.
We practice and teach Urban Krav Maga, a system founded by a group of instructors experienced across various styles of Krav Maga and other fighting systems. Urban Krav Maga is a scenario-based system, the syllabus being based on defences against the 10 most common street attack in the UK.
All the techniques focus on maximum efficiency in real-life conditions. Krav Maga generally assumes that the individual attacking will give no quarter; therefore, as a response the attacks and defenses are intended only for use in potentially lethal threat situations with the aim to neutralize and escape as rapidly and safely as possible. Crippling attacks to vulnerable body parts, including groin and eye strikes, headbutts, and other efficient and potentially brutal attacks, improvised use of any objects available, and maximizing personal safety in a fight, are emphasized.
Today, Krav Maga is taught in Israel and around the world to civilians, military, law enforcement and security agencies.
Depends on who your training with. The public lessons i try and make less deadly also women friendly. What is good is pressure testing, which we do at the end of most lessons. You get into groups of 3 or 4, then take turns being the victim. The victim then gets attacked continually for a few minutes, chokes, knifes, guns sparring, groundwork. Its a good way of replicating 'real' attacks and it can be a good workout.
For the final instructor grading we had to do it for 20mins with no break, continually sparring then dealing with 5 attackers all of which were obviously skilled.
I came out a changed man.
